The library spends around $10,000pa on new purchases. We aim to maintain a relevant and current collection.
Early this year we received a grant of $1,000 from the Richmond Rotary Club. We purchased 31 books for our collection with these funds; thanks again to Richmond Rotary.

We also have a collection of large print books on loan from the TDC which are regularly refreshed.
Each month we purchase around 30 new books, a mixture of new titles and to replace some well read, worn out popular titles. We purchase adult fiction and non-fiction and add to our extensive children and young adults section.
If you would like to renew a book you currently have on loan, please phone the library on 03 540 2545 (during opening hours) or email the overdues team at returnsmapualibrary@gmail.com.
If the book has been reserved by another member, we will request you return it to the library as soon as possible. If not on reserve, the team will re-issue it to you for another three weeks.
If you can’t find what you are looking for, you can make a recommendation to our purchasing team by talking to one of the volunteers in the library or email us at mapualibrarynz@gmail.com
